Summer is finally here and it’s time to dine outdoors! HinYard Garni offers delicious cuisine and above all, incredible outdoor dining experiences. Available for al fresco dining, as well as private hire, the terrace and the summer garden are the perfect place to host a summer party or a family celebration or a corporate event. Seating can be arranged both in the covered pavilion and in the midst of the garden. Next to the summer kitchen, there is a massive stone fireplace for barbecue, constructed in accordance with best local traditions. The guests love our variety of mouthwatering barbecues – pork, veal, lamb, chicken and especially fish. Right there beside the barbecue place village women bake lavash (Armenian flatbread) in a special furnace dug in the ground. Lavash is thin, unleavened flatbread made in a tondir, traditional conical clay oven. It can be consumed freshly-baked or can be dried up and kept for months. For centuries this ability of lavash bread has helped the nation avoid famine and starvation. Incidentally, in 2014 lavash was included in UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage as traditional Armenian bread.
